So, I was made aware of the first Ghostblood review by Howling Good Books, which can be found at that link. It looks like the characters struck! The reviewer’s last point has merit, but in my opinion, only insofar as one expects fantasy books to be multi-volume epics. Ghostblood was specifically conceived to end where it ends, for the simple reason that it felt a natural milestone in the story of Alric and Elis. I tend to view the end of Ghostblood as featuring a radical change in the story – a change which is hinted at in the last part, and which would lead to a wholly different story afterwards. The story of what happens after Ghostblood is right there in my mind, but it’s far more complicated and the scope would necessarily have to be larger, which is why I chose to end the book where it ended. I hope it makes sense
In other news, North Star is now also available as an e-book at Barnes & Noble. Hopefully this will be of interest to some of you. Incidentally, I would welcome (constructive) criticism on both books as well as any questions you might have – so feel free to write me!
